Full description
Embark on a unique, fully-guided mountain hike to Rarotonga’s highest peak. Pick up is done between 8 and 9am. Meet with your guides for briefing. From there the journey to the top starts with a walk through the valley before a steep climb through the slop forest which is dominated by the Mato tree. There are fixed ropes and scrambling in this section before you follow the ridge leading to Te Manga. On the ridges and up in the cloud forest you’ll encounter unique and rare species of fauna and our guides will provide you with information on these species plus the secrets the mountains hold. This area is protected and holds all our unique fauna species. The last climb to Te Manga is on exposed ridge and near vertical fixed rope climbing so a good fitness and experience in hiking a must.
