Some Questions that we get regarding hiking in Rarotonga
Am I fit enough to do the hike??
Our tracks are rugged with steep scrambles, narrow ridge lines, steep descents and slippery river crossings. The more prepared you are, the better you’ll enjoy your hike.
Requirements:
Must be able to walk on rough terrain for 3 to 6hrs.
Scrambling up steep sections using roots and fixed rope and down using roots and fixed rope.
A head for heights.
A love for adventure and the great outdoors.
Not Recommended if:
You have a fear of heights
Medical conditions such as ankle/knee/hip/ back issues, blood pressure, asthma and diabetics.
If over 60yrs must be of good health and good fitness.
Hydration:
In our tropical climate having higher humidity it is very important to stay hydrated.
Before your hiking day its best not to over indulge in all the beautiful beverage’s available to you on your holiday. Bring enough water with you to last over 3hrs and keep sipping along your hike. The more hydrated you are the better your body will work and recover.
Weather:
Our tours are weather dependent. Your safety is priority. If there is bad weather forecast a hike may be rescheduled for another day.
